Quadball Canada Announces Hosting Recipients for the 2026-2028 Bid Cycle
Quadball Canada is thrilled to announce their host cities for the next cycle of Regional and National Events from 2026-2028. Thank you to all the cities who applied to host in this bidding cycle.
We would like to extend a warm welcome and congratulations to all successful hosts. Co-Executive Director Hailey Yhap said that she is delighted to showcase our sport across multiple Canadian cities and regions during this next two year cycle.
“This is the first time Quadball Canada has engaged in a two term bidding process, and it is the first step in enhancing our event planning strategy. Raising awareness about quadball, across the nation, helps to elevate our platform, through growth, development and promotional opportunities that will engage not only our current athletes but future athletes,” Yhap said. The diversity amongst our upcoming hosts matches our diverse membership pool and fosters local home hosting for numerous teams.”
Each respective event, will be held over a one to two day period, with Regional events acting as the qualifier for National Championships.
Eastern Regionals
Quadball Canada is making a return to the Waterloo region, with the hosting of the 2026 Eastern Regionals. We are excited to return for yet another successful event, at the University of Waterloo.
“Waterloo Region is excited to welcome Quadball Canada athletes back in 2026 for the Eastern Regionals," said Allister Scorgie, Director of Sport Hosting at Explore Waterloo Region. "This event continues our hosting relationship, and we are grateful to be in the position to collaborate with the University of Waterloo and the University of Waterloo Quadball Club to continue supporting the sport at a local and national level.”

In 2027, we will be heading to new territory out East in Saint John, New Brunswick. Quadball Canada is excited for this newly found partnership, which presents itself with an opportunity for development and growth of our member teams. In collaboration with the city and the local universities, we have set our sights on establishing one to two new university teams that will look to join us at this regional event.
“Being selected as the first East Coast host for this event is a proud moment for the Saint John Region and a testament to the kind of community we continue to build—one that welcomes new ideas, new sports, and new visitors with open arms. We’re excited to introduce Quadball to Atlantic Canadians and to see athletes, partners, and fans from across the country experience the region and the campus at University of New Brunswick Saint John. Hosting events like this in partnership with Quadball Canada supports our local hotels, restaurants, and retailers while strengthening Saint John’s reputation as a place where people want to gather, compete, and connect,” shared Andrew Beckett, CEO, of Envision Saint John.

National Championships
Our pinnacle event of the year, has been awarded to Edmonton, AB for the 2027 edition and Ottawa, ON, for the 2028 edition. Both cities have much to offer our athletes and we are delighted to have two returning hosts for this competition.
Edmonton last hosted the National Championships in 2023. This was the first time Quadball Canada had been back out West in over 5 years. Their wealth of hosting experience and knowledge, combined with their community engagement and hospitality were exemplary and we are thrilled to return once again. This event will help prepare Edmonton, ahead of their hosting of the 2028 Quadball PANAMS, that were awarded to Canada by the IQA this past month.
Explore Edmonton is excited to welcome the 2027 Quadball Canada National Championships to Edmonton after five years!” said Cindy Medynski, Director of Sport and Culture Events, Explore Edmonton “Combining elements of rugby, dodgeball, and tag, the sport is sure to attract views who love fast-paced athleticism. This event is a strong example of how Explore Edmonton and event organizers enhance the visitor economy while delivering year-round experiences for residents and visitors alike.”

Ottawa is yet another exceptional hosting partner, who last experienced this event in 2025. It is the perfect destination meeting point for many local Ontario based teams. The city itself brings a wealth of hosting experience, logistical support and professionalism to the event. We cannot wait to see what Ottawa has in store for us once again.
“Ottawa Tourism looks forward to welcoming the 2028 Quadball Canada National Championships to Canada’s capital,” said Michael Crockatt, President and CEO of Ottawa Tourism. “National championships like this bring athletes, teams, and supporters from across the country, generating meaningful benefits for our visitor economy while showcasing Ottawa’s strength as an experienced and enjoyable host city.”
